What to do when you have 3 "expert" strawberry pickers (Kasey, Rosie, and Ambry) with you and you end up with 37 pounds of strawberries? You make jam! Well, I didn't know of anything else to make...

Here are some--there are 3 more containers like the ones with the white lids that were below the shelves!

And here are more.

What do you think? Should the girls and I try to sell some or do you think we will eat it all? That is a LOT of jam. I still have a good half a box yet--enough to definitely make another 4 jars or so. I also want to make raspberry jam and possibly blackberry. If you think it is a good idea to sell some (just around my neighborhood probably) how much would you sell it for?

I thought I was going to end up paying a lot more than that or using up a lot more in ECB's since there were no CVS coupons this week, but it ended up being a pretty good deal.

We took a trip to the zoo on Saturday. Between the two girls, Piper definitely enjoyed it more. Everything was "Do-do!" (Doggie!) We tried telling her the different names of the animals, but she didn't get it at all. :)

The girls petting the pygmy goats.
Ambry with a butterfly face painting.
Piper kept saying "Mmmmm" when she saw the monkeys. I think it was because the monkeys were eating when we were looking at them.
Check out the faces on these monkeys. They were really close to the glass (these were some inside a building) and they had these little old man faces. These were Ambry's favorite thing to look at. See Piper and Caleb in the background? She was also very excited.
Josh and Tara, and their nieces, Kylie and Haylie, came too. Here they were all throwing the bread to the ducks...the very squishy, year-old bread that I pulled out of the freezer that morning. Some pieces were a tad hard while others were totally mushy. Sorry guys!

Dustin and Braiden checking out the ducks. He kept trying to take a nose dive into the water.

Family pic! Caleb even looks pretty happy in this pic. :)
We purchased a membership to the zoo so we are looking forward to going there a lot on the weekends. So if anyone wants to join us, give us a call!

Sweet, baby girl! I love how innocent and beautiful you look when you are sleeping...

I can not believe how big you are getting! Time seems to just fly. Your hair is actually longer than Ambry's now!

I love when I get you up and you give me a big grin and yell, "Mama!". Then proceed to pat your diaper and say, "Blah!". Of course, now I know, that signals either one of two options. :)

I love when you scream with excitement every single time you are allowed to go outside and play. One would think you would eventually realize where you are going, but you get excited no matter what.

I love when you say, "do-do" (meaning doggie). Of course this is said in a voice as loud as possible and with a gigantic grin.

How I wish I could slow you down and keep you little just a small while longer. At the same time I look forward to hearing what you are going to learn to say next. And of course, what antic you are going to pick up from your big sister.

So I will enjoy this time that I have you to hold and to squish!

Preview to the toy room:

Here are some of the squares of colors that I painted on the walls. I kept the main green color that was already on the walls so paint was very cheap. I got all 4 square colors-yellow, 2 different shades of green, and a blue--from Seven's in the mistint section for $3.00 for all. I then picked 3 different colors of ribbon--lime green, lime green and white polka dot, and one other green and white polka dot. The ribbon was about $6.50 or so.
Here are a couple of Ambry's finger paints that I hung up. Cute and sentimental art...Love it!
Here are the "curtains" that I got. They are actually table cloths that I picked up from Target for about $8.00 a piece. The rods I already had and I hung up the curtains using little flower clip like things that I found at Bed, Bath and Beyond for $3.50 a pack.

So far my total is at about $26.00. Not too bad for adding some much needed fun and color to the toy room. I still have some white shelves--5 of them all with different lengths--that I painted white to hang and a cork board that I need to add some fabric to. Hopefully I will be able to get it done tomorrow when Sarah comes to watch all of the little munchkins. Yeah!

Crazy good deals!!!

Thanks to Robyn for telling me about National Bike Trail Day!!! Here is some of the loot that we picked up there. Both of the girls got free bike helmets and pads, a new bike pump, a new bike lock, 2 small pedometers, 1 really nice, bigger pedometer, 3 t-shirts, and arm band to hold my ipod while running, free lunch, and candy that we took home. We also entered a raffle and I am really hoping to win a bike. All in all, we got over $50.00 worth of stuff--Piper's helmet alone was $19.99 from Meijer! Plus, it made for a fun Saturday. :) And here is what I got at CVS and Rite Aid this week:

  1. 6 boxes of cereal
  2. 1 Dove shampoo
  3. 1 Dove conditioner
  4. 1 Gillette Fusion razor
  5. 4 Nivea shaving creams
  6. 2 Atkins bars
  7. 1 Jergens lotion (clearanced to $2.15)
  8. 1 Bonine for Kids--motion sickness stuff for Kasey(Rite Aid)
  9. 1 Soothing Care (Rite Aid)
  10. 1 Itch X (Rite Aid)
  11. 1 Rite Guard Pro. Strength (Rite Aid)

At Rite Aid I spent $18.16 and will get back $18.97. Everything for free plus a small profit. Maybe it will cover my gas that I spent on getting out of the parking lot. :)

At CVS I did 3 different transactions. I got $55.28 worth of stuff, used $29.60 in coupons, $11.99 ECB's, got back $19.00 ECB's, and used $5.92 in cash. All in all, if you count ECB's kind of like cash it evened out to $17.91 in cash and got back $19.00 in cash. So, again, a small profit there too.

Seriously, where can you get that much cereal for basically free? Usually, no where. So, yeah for good deals at CVS again!

Hello new roomate...Goodbye "little girl" haircut...

My youngest brother, Jordan, has now moved in with us. Yeah! All ready Ambry and Piper are having a ball with him. Here are some pics of them rough housing together.

Good bye to Ambry's long, long hair. I feel...sad but all right about cutting it all off. We were able to donate two braids to Locks of Love so that was fun. She had about 11 inches cut off. I almost started crying, but at the same time will be grateful when we won't have tears when trying to comb out her mass of hair. And, of course, it will grow out again.

So here she is, her new, very short hairstyle... A very stylish sort of bob for a 4 year old. :)
