A Trip to the Gardens...continued for the last time :)

Finally! The end of the pics from the Gardens. Here is one of the girls with what we called swans. Not too sure what they really were. :)

Another cool one of the swans. I loved these colors together.

Gotta love Ambry's face on this one. At this point both of the girls were getting a little tired of me having them pose for pictures.

And then Piper needed to copy her big sister.

And one last one. They aren't looking at the camera but I still love how it turned out.
Whew! I didn't realize how many pics I actually took until I loaded all of them onto the computer. Yikes! I didn't realize how much snapping of pics I really did. Oh well. At least we had bunches of fun and we all got to see some really neat stuff.

A Trip to the Gardens...continued...again...
I think I am nearing the end of the pics...I think. :) Anyway, check out this gigantic piece of art. I just think this stuff is so amazing! The girls even loved checking out all the pieces. They thought it was so cool that it was all made of glass.

It reminds me of a big ball of fire.

Ignore my absolute giganticness (is that even a word) in this pic and it wouldn't be too bad of a pic. At least the girls and the tree look good. :)

A huge spiral column of glass with a huge spade in the background. I have always thought that spade was a very strange piece of art. I mean, seriously, it is just a gigantic shovel. The glass thing is way cooler. But that is just my opinion. And just an idea on size, I would say this thing has to be around 20 feet tall!

Piper by a very creepy looking gigantic spider. Yuck! But she liked it. Go figure. :)

Another pic of Ambry by the waterfall.
LOVE Piper's big brown eyes here. I think this is the only pic I got of her with her eyes open. Little stinker.

I think I am nearing the end of my pics from the Gardens. If not, too bad so sad because that is the only cool place we have gone lately where I actually had my camera with me. So you're stuck looking at yet more pics from there. Hehe!

A trip to the Gardens...continued...

There is a gorgeous waterfall with koi pond at the gardens that also had these floating balls on the rocks. Of course, made of glass. This was one of Ambry's favorite exhibits to look at.
Here she is trying to spot the koi.

Here is Piper looking over one of the lakes there. This was her favorite exhibit. See the little floating things in the water? She thought they looked like Hershey kisses.

Here is a little better one where you can see more of the floating "candy". Check out the boat? Isn't that cool? All of those different pieces are all handblown glass! So cool!

This is from the other side of the lake. You can see the boat way on the opposite shore.
The girls cheesing it up for a pic by yet another waterfall.
A couple more pics from the children's garden. The girls loved playing in this water feature. It is actually shaped like all of the great lakes.

All right...more pics to come later...again. :)

A Trip to the Gardens

I LOVE going to the gardens and checking out all the cool art they have there. The girls love to go to the Children's Garden. We also got to check out the butterfly exhibit they had there--it was the last day of the exhibit. As a bonus it was also the first day of the Chihuly exhibit. Chihuly is a glass artist who makes amazing pieces of art.

The girls by the "rock candy on a stick"...at least that is what we called it. :)

Those "leafs" that are floating in the water are made of glass. Amazing!

There were a couple of these vases with flowers--all made of glass--in the conservatory (where the butterflies were).

An actual butterfly! This is one of the biggest ones. If I remember right they can be anywhere from 8 to 12 inches!

Another glass vase with flowers.
Our picnic spot outside in an area of the children's garden.

Whew! Apparently I took more pics than I thought. There will definitely be more to come. This wasn't even half of them!!! Good grief!
